How to Make Corduroy Stylish
This Christmas and the holiday season were truly amazing. It really felt like the most wonderful time of the year! Hope you all had a wonderful time as well. Winter season in LA is kind of like fall in a lot of places - chilly, around 50 degrees, and a little rainy. LA can get surprisingly cold! So, one of my go-tos for this weather is one that I have been obsessed with recently - corduroy! I really think this fabric is both classic and underrated - perfect for that cool LA vibe!
Corduroy is a strong fabric with a rounded cord or rib surface formed by cut yarn. It’s believed that the term is a compound of the word “cord,” referring to its tufted, row-like pattern, and “duroy” which was a wool fabric used in England.
Corduroy is warm and very durable, and that’s why it’s such a great fabric for winter. It’s mostly used for trousers, but designers have begun to use it for other clothing as well, such as a full suit or jackets.
Corduroy has sometimes earned an unfair reputation for being less stylish, less comfortable or less flattering. But I think when styled with the right color & fit, corduroy is not only a cozier alternative to denim, but also a cooler-looking one.
