This is my first ever personal styling report and it’s for a very special client, my husband and best friend! The guy who was born to love me and us. Super daddy to Bonnie & Clyde. 7/11 is his birthday so this is for you, Paul!

Overall, he has a pretty chill personality and also has great taste in food & music. He works in finance, and these days he mostly works remotely but has occasional business meetings. In his personal life, he enjoys activities like exploring museums, galleries, happy hours and parties. On weekends, he loves going to nature too. He is very open-minded about trying new colors & patterns. He mostly prefers a relaxed fit for comfort with a bit of details.
He is living in LA and loves hanging during the day so a low-key casual look with a slight touch of style is an essential for his wardrobe.

This simple & easy styling code can be really fun depending on the fit, color & pattern.
Paul usually prefers to wear something lightweight, so I tried to find Rayon/Tencel or Linen blended summer shirts. They do have a reputation of getting wrinkled but a trick is if you spray some water the day before and hang them, the wrinkles go away! Another plus is you can feel the fresh air coming through the light fabric. Cotton blended is also ok, but be sure to check the fabric touch & weight if hot weather is a concern.
Lightweight Summer Shirts
Heading to the beach or pool? A terry cloth shirt will help you to get in the mood, especially if you plan to swim. Terry's absorbent fabric has an uncut loop side which is usually used for towels. Great function and still looks cool.

For shorts, it has to be comfortable enough to ride, walk or do anything. So when I select shorts for him, the leg opening has to be wide and long, usually with a 6 1/2” - 8” inseam. If it’s any shorter than that, then the leg opening has to be wide enough to feel comfortable. A stylish color & design with an elastic waist is also something to look out for.

If you choose the right style, casual swimwear shorts can be super versatile! You can wear them for hanging out during the day, and then can go straight to the beach or a pool party!

A pair of fun, soft socks is always essential. This is the perfect way to encourage him to change up his style and the perfect gift to keep him looking fresh! Personally, I like a mid-calf, throw back design. Comfy, soft, cute & fun. What more do you need?

Comfortable (and stylish) footwear is one of the most important things in a wardrobe. Lightweight shoes have rubber outsoles like Espadrilles and Boat shoes are ideal for a casual stroll along the beach or at a café. One of Paul’s favorite types is High top sneakers.
Caps, hats, and all kinds of headpieces are essential for a sunny place like California. It’s also where you can show off some style.

After researching for Paul, here are some of my complete outfit suggestions depending on the occasion! I tried to make the whole outfit fit the warm & cool shades that’s perfect for a place like LA.

Thanks to the weather and laid-back culture of Los Angeles, business attire here tends to be a mixture of traditional office wear and more casual separates. If you change your pants to something more formal like chino or suit pants, you can probably get away with going to work in one of these summer shirts. This is also a look that can go from work to play once happy hour rolls around — all day.
Personally, I love wearing socks with sandals or boat shoes. It gives me more comfort and I feel more protected. Also you can add a bit of a retro touch!
