It’s Lakers time baby!
Since moving to LA, the Lakers won their 17th NBA Championship, the Dodgers won the World Series and the Rams won the Super Bowl! Maybe it’s luck, but I’m loving being a fan of all the LA sports teams. But in LA, I’ve learned that this passion and love runs deepest for the Lakers. Simply put, it’s a Lakers town.
Across the US, it's hard to say exactly which sport is the most popular, but basketball, along with football, is one of the most popular sports not only in America but across the world. Going to an NBA game is an event that thousands of people attend every year. After watching a Lakers game in person, sometimes it felt like I was watching a performance art.
I think dressing up for an NBA game is a great way to boost your sporty spirit. You can have a little fun while still being comfy and casual like Rihanna or Kendall.
Of course you don't have to wear a team jersey, but any item with your team name or logo shows that you’re a real fan and makes you feel like a part of the city! I almost felt like I was a part of the team, haha. And you can have a little fun while still being comfy and casual.
Last week, I went to watch my first Lakers game! I went with a 90’s aesthetic.
You can’t go wrong with a crop top and a pair of high-waisted mom jeans for a 90’s throwback outfit. I added an orange beanie which has a similar warm tone like my hoodie but also has a pop of color.
Here are my NBA game night outfit suggestions with mood boards and links:
90’s Cool-Kid
Crop Top + Ripped Jeans + Beanie + Jordans

Tie Dye T-shirt + Skate Pants + Chelsea Boots
A tie-dye Lakers T-shirt is perfect for retro vibes. When you choose a tie dye T-shirt, wearing a slightly oversized one will look cooler when you style them. Chelsea boots & a bold bracelet will make you Rock’n’roll baby!
SHOP THE LOOKS
Team Jersey + Overall Denims + Ugly Sneakers + LA Hat or Cap
Throw yourself into the team colors. For the Lakers, that’s Purple / White / Gold / Black. Overall denims are comfy and easy to match and will instantly make you look like Will Smith from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Add a little bit of LA pride with a hat or a cap!

Lastly, here are a couple places you can check out near the stadium before watching the game:
1/ GRAMMY Museum
2/ Yard House
The happiest thing was I didn’t have to wear a mask indoors anymore!
Even though the Lakers lost, I felt and experienced the love for the Lakers. It's a blessing to be able to share common interests with loved ones. Having fun, cheering together and living in the moment. In that sense, my first Lakers game was perfect. Go Lakers!
