One Night in Las Vegas
The many travel experiences my husband and I have had together have helped make our R&R very clear when planning. He usually makes the arrangements and I pack accordingly. As our roles became clear, both planning and preparing for travel became more enjoyable and comfortable. That's why I think it's very important to share any plans or ideas with each other before going on a trip. Sounds obvious, right? But having even a rough idea of where to visit can make planning much more efficient for the packer. For me, fashion is one of the ways to enjoy a new place and make special travel moments. Also, the fact that these special memories can be made even more beautifully is a real advantage of travel fashion.
So without further ado, I would like to share my process of packing for my recent Thanksgiving trip to Las Vegas.

Paul suggests spending Thanksgiving in Vegas for 2 days & 1 night. I say ‘Yes!’ without any hesitation.
Paul books the hotel room.

Paul makes a rough itinerary. The key places are:
- Hotel Pool
- Thanksgiving Dinner @ NoMad Hotel
- Lounge & Bar
I think the best thing about Vegas is that you can be anyone you want. The world's most famous city for entertainment. Colorful and fun costumes, even those that might be a little awkward to wear on a normal day, can be great for Las Vegas. I think this is the perfect opportunity to try styles that you've never tried before. It's going to expand your own fashion sense. And my #1 priority: comfort! In order to truly enjoy your experience, I think being comfortable and traveling light and compact plays a big role.
Travel Light!
When traveling for a short trip like 2 days and 1 night, I think it’s fine to bring just one suitcase per couple. Packing light will make life easier help you enjoy styling itself. It really just depends on how long you plan to stay and the current weather.
Below are the key items I packed:
- One swimsuit
- One casual outfit for daytime
- One party outfit for nighttime
- One pajamas (comfy pajamas are really important for a good nights sleep)
I checked my closet and set aside the potential ones.

I check the weather forecast in Vegas.

Thanksgiving Day : 53 - 65 F (12 - 18 C)
The day after Thanksgiving : 53 - 66 F (12 - 19 C)

Colder than you might think, right? November in Vegas can get cold. Living in LA can spoil you so I have an emergency sherpa jacket in the car already. So this means I just need to chose one of my boyfriend jackets to wear for both daytime casual & chic night. Then I organized the rest of the items with the most tricky one being my sequin top & skirt aka my 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' outfit. Yep, I named it. I actually enjoy naming always. Those were put in a separate bag and laid on the bottom. And then the rest of the clothes were folded and rolled up on top. Rolling up is one of my favorite methods because it wrinkles the least and takes up the least amount of space while allowing everything to be seen at once.
(Suitcase size 14” X 22”)
An empty cosmetic case is good for keeping spare accessories.
And this is key ladies, no spare shoes. I know! But shoes are one of the bulkiest items that take up a lot of space. (Plus, there might be slippers in the hotel room.) You should also leave a little free space in your suitcase for potential souvenirs. Done! Now time to go!
Day 1
@ Seven Magic Mountains
Red cap + Sherpa jacket + Body suit + Corduroy baggie pants + White combat boots
I love colors. Have fun mixing bold colors in your style!
@ NoMad
When you want to be a little sassier than normal, try a pop color bodysuit with low waist baggy pants. The cut-out zone between top & bottom is the key.
Winner winner chicken dinner!
Casino red light. It reminds me of a 90’s Hong Kong movie.
@ Eataly
Red cap + Boyfriend jacket + Red bodysuit + Corduroy baggy pants + White combat boots
@ Bellagio Conservatory
Night time. Let’s boost up the mood!
Red beret + Sherpa jacket + Sequin top + Corduroy baggy pants + White combat boots
My baggy pants are made with waist-adjustable construction so I switched to a ‘High waist fit’.
Same pants but different fit depending on which top you wear. I love these pants.
Finally party time! My ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ outfit. As I told you above, I like naming things.
My white combat boots work really well day & night. They’re so comfy which is really good for Vegas because you’ll be walking a lot.
Red beret + Boyfriend jacket + Sequin top + Sequin skirt + White combat boots
Day 2
We ended up not going to the pool because it was closed for the season, but thanks to getting upgraded to a suite, we had a really nice bathtub in the room! So instead we enjoying a hot bubble bath and taking shadow photographs. I think the most beautiful photos are those captured through the eyes of a loved one.
@ NoMad
When you wear swimwear, one accent accessory can level up your look instantly.
@ Gabi cafe
Boyfriend jacket + Sequin top + Elastic waist woven pants. Another day time Vegas outfit, still very comfy!
So, did you get to know more about travel styling? It’s easier than you think. The secret for both stylish & compact is ‘Mix & Match’. Putting individual things together in different ways.
Easy, huh?
As you experiment with new and different looks by mixing and matching on each trip, you’ll have more fun and find yourself enjoying fashion more!
I would say my top choice for Vegas was my, ‘Twinkle twinkle sequin top’. I met this amazing piece while I was shopping for an outfit to wear to an Oscars afterparty show. This sequin cami & skirt match set was only $20 at the Los Feliz flea market. What a steal!
To recap,
Don’t be afraid to try something new.
And add one scoop of confidence.
And finally, here are some of my styling suggestions for you who are interested in ’cool pretty holiday styling’ or ‘Vegas fashion’!
In colder weather, you can easily match these with an oversized jacket, any type of comfy jeans or baggy pants. It will make you shine during the most wonderful time of the year!
